There's only 2 trains you could've heard. Harbor Turn and the Albina Flyer. I don't know where in Hillsboro you live, but the Harbor you would've heard once each way. The Albina might've gone out the Forest Grove Branch and the Seghers. That would explain why it sounded like lots of trains.
