The connection in Naco, Sonora has been gone for years. The short section of track from the now purchased UP line to the border fence was torn up in 1976ish, and there are now buildings on the ROW. There is an old concrete phone booth at the 'junction', just south of 'Camp Naco' if you want to Google Earth it. I have pictures from a visit about five years ago.
The line that was torn up in 2007ish runs along the San Pedro River, some type of nature area that's protected with beavers, birds, etc. The ROW, although gated and signed, has become an ATV and Border Patrol road. One small trestle was burned down by A&K when pulling up the track, but the issues are minor, the grades easy, and should be rebuildable without much major effort by the UP.
Not included with the purchase is the RoW from Naco to Douglas, but the more feasible border connection might be in Douglas/AP than Naco. The tunnel east of Bisbee has boulders inside it, and needs to be upgraded. The line from Bisbee Junction to Douglas was torn up back in the 1990's. The RoW is mostly there, with a nice new Border Patrol station on/next to it.
I've visited with the shortline based in Benson in the past, and had the chance to ride with the crew. Great friendly folks that are out to provide a service - and make a buck. I wish them well and this seems like a good move for them.
