I just got back from a trip to Eureka to shoot the five GP9's that are in a pen at Commerical Dr. and Waterfront Rd....The units are CCT 70, 2872,3857,3779 and 3190....It seems that the Port of Eureka wants the property that the railroad yard is on for future development....Also the line running south has bushes up to seven feet tall in places and trees between the ties up to 10 feet....Building a line East and west is a waist of money and reopening the north south line would be much cheaper....but it would never pay for its self.....What few mills that are running such as Pacific Lumber are going full blast...It looks like most of the lumber being shipped out of Eureka is going by ship...I saw a few south bound truck loads on 101, so the balance has to be going to Redding to the reload on the UP....
