Arkley owns the NWP Yard and wants to turn it into the "Marina Center"......a shopping blob anchored by a Home Depot. Those poor locos look like and art contest behind the chain link fence. Is there anyone out there who thinks they will run again after bagged in the rain, fog and salt for 14 years. Trees are probably the least of the problems by now......most of the ties are rotten. One ancient TPL flatcar and the A&MR 44 tonner sit in the blown out Humboldt Flakeboard plant that's been sold off at auction. I just returned from over there and I can't stand to look at the railroad anymore.......too many other historic preservation issues hanging fire. One thing for sure......if these moneybags with east/west dreams would just throw a few nickels at the local RR infastructure and help THA and the local tourist economy instead of talking like crazy people, everyone would be a lot better off.
