No it is NOT ! --- Tyranny is tyranny !
Especially if it leads to the practical reality of a "One Party State". Since there will always be multiple sides to every question, the refusal to compromise with your opposition ("I will veto anything that does not include.... and it will be all your fault") or any other bullying of an elected congress, is the hallmark of a potential tyrant.
Even Hitler came to power by an extremely large majority coalition vote. Of course, with that super majority initially eliminating the need for any compromise with opposition parties, it wasn't all that long before he managed to dissolve Parliament, and began summarily executing his opposition. Even if that "majority" finally woke up, it was by then way too late.
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Lord Acton (early 19th century)
As for Kaliphonia, you will all soon learn the consequences of an absolutely unopposed, greedy, power mongering political party, that forces ALL its own members to goose step in unison on every question. I would weep for you, except that a majority of you deserve it! Oh to live in a time and place where no party could punish its free thinkers; where there is not such a thing as "Politically Correct".
Lord Acton also said "The one pervading evil of democracy is the tyranny of the majority, or rather of that party, not always the majority, that succeeds, by force or fraud, in carrying elections."
Hmmmmmm!
