Duh, so you don't really have any facts to support your claim, then, just rhetoric. Alrighty then. But to cite Michigan versus Texas - or Sunbelt versus non-Sunbelt - as the basis for your claim without considering all the other gergraphic, economic, political and social factors is simply naive.
As to your second point, the money I pay in union dues is far less than the differential I make by working for a unionized railroad versus a non-union one, so from that standpoint alone it's well worth it even without considering the additional benefits. However, anyone who wants to be do the exact same work for less money and benefits is OK by me.
