Good point about a 'BART-type' system. I have always wondered why nobody here in Seattle ever talks about a heavy-rail grade seperated system like BART. The geography in the Puget Sound area is a natural for a system like that. Imagine high-speed service like that Everett to Tacoma with a line through Seattle and another on the Eastside, and I think voters could support that.
I think the biggest thing here that killed Prop. 1 is the fact that the Sound Transit light rail is 5-6 years behind the original schedule and still will not open for business until 2009. Not to mention the cost overruns...
