SC&MB and SCBT&P Holiday Trains

A couple quick questions I had while looking at Howard's photographs of the Christmas Town set over on the westcoastrailforums board...how did having two train attactions departing from the Boardwalk work? Any problems or confusion between the two operations? Did Iowa Pacific's operation detract from the SCBT&P ridership? Or were they largely drawing from different clientel base? In the end, is there room for the two operations to coexist at Santa Cruz?

I'm curious...
