Hwy 12 runs east/west over the NWP in Santa Rosa and you can see where the new rail and ties start by looking south maybe a quarter mile. The work has been progressing and is down close to or into Petaluma I think. There is still work on the Petaluma River Bridge to be done (they located a newer replacement one in Texas) and miles to go to the south, but a lot has been done.
Most, if not all of the funding for this was through light rail.
