Margaret- I know what I'm suggesting seems "expensive", and in literal out-of-pocket terms, yes. But that's why there are tax exempt provisions for groups and "companies" that organize under the 501(C)3 non-profit umbrella. Any donations, cash or material, to such companies qualify the donor for being able to deduct those donations. We wouldn't have half the RR museums and operating groups were it not for such tax laws. If CSRM's Museum of Technology were to evolve to a point to allow a working remanufacturing environment, it would also be perfect to have an "antique RR technology" educational environment where the time-honored backshop machining and metalurgical skills could be perpetuated and certifed to a new generation. Tours of seeing locos being properly erected and serviced could be done. All of this would, of course, have to have rail excursions and historical recreations seen as a worthy contribution to the growing tourism component of State economy.
