So a logical question would be "Why doesn't Amtrak go to all-reserved seating on the Surfliners?" Maybe just for weekends to start, but it seems to me that this would be the best cusomer service that you could provide.

And if the demand is that great, would that not be a catalyst to add additonal frequencies? I know, equipment is tight, but perhaps something could be worked out.

But it is a happy problem to have, passenger trains with so much demand that additional equipment and scheduled runs are needed.
