I am not a big fan of Dian on the issue of CHSRA, but could you at least get a story that has actual sourcing for its serious allegations? This appears to come from a pretty dubious conspiracy theorist, with no actual information making the links he purports to make, in his story? If it's true, then it's lazy "journalism" and you get an F for such an incomplete story. But, then with today's high standards, if it's just another "make believe" internet fantasy/conspiracy for the gullible, then, I guess it's good enough, right?
Of course, what this self styled "reporter" that you sent us to knows or was apparently able to "fact check" about railroad construction costs would fill a large thimble, as well. This citation is internet journalism at its best, right up there with the best of the "high quality" Boston internet reporting we've seen lately?
And, where did the 125 mph freights come from?
As usual, for this critic of CHSRA, who has major issues with the waste, fraud, and abuse of political power in this enterprise, but who supports a cost effective, affordable, first world rail passenger system, to meet our very real travel needs in California, just maybe, the truth lies somewhere in between?
Michael is, unfortunately, right about any better-faster-cheaper option via a perfectly feasible Fort Tejon route, via Palmdale, or not.
