1) Edison and SDGE rate payers have been paying a few cents a month since the 60's to pay for
San Onofree's retirement, extra costs will be covered by the shareholders, Mitsubishi and the insurance companies.
2) Jet Turbines are extreemly expensive to operate and are used only if the system is about to crash
3) AQMD rules wont allow Coal or Oil to be burned in California and even certain Natural Gas boilers cannot be used (too bad they cant turn San Onofre into a huge coal plant with rail access and unlimited supply of sea water)
4) If the lights go out because of the loss of San Onofre then put the blame on Barbara Boxer, No-Nuke Kooks, NIMBYs, and Greenies
25% capacity has been lost and they should have waited until replacements were in place
My employer is ready to leave Irvine if there is a single blackout.
