If you include Espee Narrow Gauge, then Espee steam locomotives in regular, revenue service lasted until August, 1959.
Per an article in the current SP Tech Society magazine, Espee Narrow Gauge # 9 was the last in revenue service, on August 25, 1959. Also per the article, a group in Independence, CA., is trying to restore SP Narrow Gauge # 18 to service.
