Assuming a 60-foot tank car, 72 would be about 8/10 of a mile, and take 15 to 20 minutes to walk, one way. So if the one lone guy had to park and walk the length of the train and back, he's chewed up 40 minutes at the end of his shift. Then, if he has to do that again at the start of his shift, add another 40 minutes. And he's not walking on a sidewalk. And he's got other things to do (like setting or unsetting handbrakes as he goes). It's not a stroll.
