Thanks. I suspected something like this -carrier procedural errors- might have figured in. In fact it was virtually the only possibility. Nothing from Board 7550 has been put up on the NMB site yet, and sometimes it takes several weeks to months for this to happen.
And before everyone else gets their underwear in a twist, the reason for these RLA and Board processes is that both sides have to play fair in an upstanding manner: the engineer has to perform his duties properly, AND the carrier can't be underhanded, sneaky, nor improper when assessing discipline. This time the carrier screwed up.
If the process didn't work this way, a lot of employees would have permanently lost their jobs improperly and unfairly. These RR labor process and procedures have more or less been the prototype for all the others outside the RR industry.
If Jackson is smart (no guarantees) he'll hide out on a yard job for the rest of his career.
