Roundup is Monsanto's brand name for glyphosate, a broad spectrum herbicide. In other words: a weed killer.
Monsanto's last patent expired in 2000, so it is now made by several companies.
GMO plants do not contain glyphosate. Some GMO plants have been created to be resistant to glyphosate. You can use glyphosate to kill weeds in a field of these plants without killing the plants. That is why farmers plant them.
Remember: GMO means "Genetically Modified Organism". Poodles are genetically modified organisms. Humans chose which dogs would breed to select which characteristics would be in future generations.
What people call GMOs are usually organisms that have been modified by directly affecting genes. You can certainly argue for or against any particular method of genetic modification.
Some companies are using genetic analysis to determine which genetic lines to mix. They then use traditional methods to get the results. They use modern methods to get the information, but traditional methods in breeding. In this way they can avoid having the product labeled a GMO.
