As usual with this "source", we hear a complete fantasy of pure bull$%&t about some my some mysterious conspiratorial change in the initiative process was somehow secretly enacted when no one was looking?
I have no love of the dysfunctional, poorly planned, poorly managed contract steering racket that Quentin Kopp and your pal Arnold created at the CHSRA, but then we hear from those who hear mysterious voices (with or without the "tinfoil hats" on?), and the big difference between being governed by crackpots and corrupt fools, from the standpoint of the rest of us, is what exactly?
I say put it back on the ballot, nothing has changed in regard to that. If you have the signatures, put it on the ballot next year, and hold a vote to repeal. My suspicion is that most of these who have been the most chronic whiners would rather just @#$%& and moan, because that alternative course would also require real work, and also might require them to answer what they'd do about these problems instead? But, unfortunately, it seems that most of these chronic whiners don't really have solutions for any of these real problems we are facing, either.
I would much rather that we'd spend the current programmed HSR money on the long list of needed LOSSAN improvements and on an upgraded Altamont connection. Those expenditures would actually meet some of our real travel needs, in a more cost effective manner, where we'd see real congestion and mobility benefits. All of the LOSSAN projects have been much better planned and are on a truly "shovel ready" adopted project lists, which would create real jobs, and traffic relief, in corridors that make sense, in a more realistic timeframe.
