Look at the construction materials and debris in the lower part of the pic. I don't think the Eastbound road ( heading towards the L.A. River at top of pic ) is the exit of Vignes St. Rather, I believe it is the Eastbound side of Aliso St. coming off a detour. This photo was most likely taken during the early conversion phase of Aliso St. to the Hollywood Fwy., possibly a road shoo - fly for the Alameda Ave. overpass. Also, look closely and PE tracks can be seen in the fast lanes of Aliso St.
I recall that the Alameda Ave. on-ramp to Eastbound 101 was pretty much where the curved roadway is in the pic. It was a sharp right turn with little room to get up to speed. Recall that the refusal of Brew 102 to move forced Ca. Dept. of Transportation to move the freeway alignment, all for a shitty beer !!!
