Looks like I will have to make a trip out there -- That ex - Chessie SD-18 is COOL !!! And rare, too. BTW, although the Tri-mount trucks used on the C&O SD-18's did indeed come from ALCo trade - ins, they were also used on other Diesels, notably early GE's. Their GE traction motors, much larger and containing more copper than the EMD brand, were the reason for their re - use.
The SD-18 could actually be just the ticket for the WIR, with its' small rail but big trains.
