Clarification:
Nixon set the ball rolling, just as he campaigned he would. "Peace with Honor" he said. But our withdrawal was anything but peaceful for the Southeast Asians and the P.O.W. left behind; nor was it honorable by any stretch of the imagination. It was a disgrace. Sending men to die in vain for any cause, without any real intent to see it through to success; is.... Well, there ain't words....
To this very day, that is a lesson we still have not learned! But whatever, Nixon also failed to remain in office long enough to finish what he started - the withdrawal. So his vice president had to do that for him.
But what the Vietnam war has to do with SP passenger trains at Eckley - is way beyond me!
