While I don't think agree with doubling the Federal Highway Fuel Tax, I am in favor of raising it a dime or so. Spend all day driving the Interstates like I do, and you too might see the need for more funding to repair / replace the now 35 year old or more Interstate Highway system. Also remember how many more vehicles are using the Interstates than 35 years ago, yet with Average Fuel Economy going way up, there is actually less money available from fuel taxes.
