The Freighthouse Square article in today's Tacoma News Tribune does mention that "... WSDOT will spend 800 million dollars for improvements on the ( Prairie ) line, and elsewhere on the Seattle to Portland corridor, to shave 10 minutes off the running time. " ( Emphasis mine ) The WSDOT spokesman says this savings will allow for 2 more Cascades roundtrips.
Really ??? EIGHT HUNDRED MILLION dollare to shave 10 minutes off the schedules ??? What a deal, especially since it really isn't the state's money to begin with. And is 10 minutes savings really enough for TWO more roundtrips ???
