While my previous posts may not indicate it, I am FOR this new passenger-train bypass around the problems and delays of the Point Defiance line. I am wary, however, of the amount of money being spent on it, although it now looks like Amtrak is off the hook for most of the costs associated with this deal. My concerns are for the future of Freighthouse Square, and just how long it might take BNSF to start routing " detours " this way.
I am actually looking forward to seeing the Coast Starlight stall on the S/B grade out of Freighthouse Square !!!
