How much traffic will move on the NWP seems to be a moot point in light of the City of Novato's current attitude.As of now, the city has been the major voice in its opposition to the restoration of rail service whether it be freight or passenger. We have not heard from the local citizen groups who will also become a part of the legal mess. But, it must be noted that this is the same city and opponets who shut down Hamilton Air Force Base. With that closure the runways were flooded and a man made resource was lost forever.

As I predicted ten years ago the chances of this line ever re-opening are slim to none. Eventually, the whole route will become a bike/walking path and all the "anti-somethings" will be able to stroll all the way from Mill Valley to Eureka. Bye bye NWP.
