The other posters subsequent pretty well sum up my point, Brainless. Your rant about people with whom you disagree on the regulation and running of economic activity in Oregon has been shown to be just that. Last time I went through Oregon to see my niece and nephew and before that on my many trips on the Starlight, I saw still-healthy industries, and not only in Multnomah Co. Yeah, logging ain't what it used to be, but some places like Coos Bay are actually weaning themselves off the monoculture, not to mention the welcoming attitude to employers in all parts of the state as testified by others. It hardly needs pointing out that Bakken oil trains have had less-than-fortunate impacts and that maybe the general public might just want to know what's rolling by on the tracks behind their fence. I don't recall the article advocating obstruction or other interference with RR operations, either! As to nerves struck, I drive past a coastal refinery that is rail-served by Warren Buffet's 1:1 scale model layout on a frequent basis, and no one here in "lib'rul" Western Washington takes much notice. Anyone who cares to be informed knows whence the trains now come, and nobody's lying across the tracks or sabotaging the swing bridge nearby or even raising their voices much. Turn down the Faux Noise affiliates before you have to scream and maybe some sense will emerge.
