I'm old enough to remember when it was called "gasohol."
My beef is that in spite of vast improvements over the last few
decades, some of the greenies act and sound as if no progress at
all has been made, and that in fact the country is backsliding.
This is BS of the highest order.
We are at or beyond the tipping point in which each expensive
"improvement" yields less and less benefit. It's the point of
diminishing returns. Is it worth another $10 billion to achieve
another 0.00001% improvement in emissions?
The current standards have not been in effect long enough for
there to have been enough fleet replacement to see big results.
Yet we won't to run pell-mell into Tier 5, Tier 6 and on and on
with no thought given to whether or not they are accomplishing
anything worthwhile by doing so.
Someone has to have the intelligence to take a step back and say,
"enough is enough."
