What I miss from the current magazines's content are the "how to" articles, as in "this is where I went and what I saw, and this is how you can do the same." RAILPACE still does this, complete with maps and directions as well as photos. I suppose other editors fear liability issues, in case they should be accused of encouraging (OMG!!!) trespassing. Back in the 80s-90s, I was able to shoot a lot of good stuff in NorCal based on intel gleaned from the pages of The LARK (thanks again, Vic!). How often does any of this kind of info get passed on this board, for example?
