Cities and Airlines vs HSR

OK, lets get real. Airports are money makers for cities, and in California six in every 10 flights originated in either SF or LA areas. Airports get paid in landing fees, parking fees, etc. If you cut the travel between SF and LA by 50% they would most likely lose so much revenue that the Cities would need to fund the airports.

And we wonder who wants it to fail?
