I used to be an engineer- I had a license even- more than one
Actually did a teeny bit of work on the fix of the Quake joint at the SF end of the transbay tube.
I engineered my way out of a paper bag or two- civil/structural- the things tunnels and bridges are made of- seismicity included
CAHSR, its promoters , defenders, planners etc are one giant piece of s--t
It can be designed to do what its titles hints at.No- make that 'could have been'
As soon as somebody figured half the cost, or less, that approach was abandoned
It won' be, there are already too many compromises to make it happen any way it can- stupid
It can't be afforded and be effectively hi speed transportation
What will be squandered will produce a giant piece of crap.
