There is plenty of infrastructure in danger from a severe earthquake, including freeway overpasses, and such. That's why we've done so much to update our designs based on what we've learned, and have attempted to retrofit most of them, in order to prevent failure, or in some cases of older structures, to at least to prevent catastrophic failure, and minimize risks to drivers.

And, yes there are a few freeway structures, that were built back when we didn't know so much, that I wouldn't want to be on (10/215 north connector comes to mind) when a big one hits.

These advances from here and abroad are used for engineering modern choo-choo infrastructure, too.

And, as you note, this is something we do deal with, all the time.

I didn't take anything from your earlier comments other than that, despite these irrational fears some folks seem to have.
