Hmmm, that must have been SOME reroute, to catch the Owl in Salinas, "normally" a San Joaquin Valley route train. The author might have been referring to #75/76, The Lark. If the San Joaquin Valley route is closed, we must be BUSY tonight! That reality did occur for nearly a month, after the Tehachapi quake. It was some show, as viewed from my then home, behind the SP Atascadero station. AA
