I've been saying for the last two years that with the rails making TE&Y an almost impossible job
for any worker to maintain and with the increased crew requirements and difficulty in finding new
hires that the rails will go to Congress and ask for permission to try crewless trains. PTC
implementation will be the key to this because if it can be demonstrated that makes trains safer
than look out. You look at the "radio stations" every couple miles on the UP and wonder what all
that does, well it's coming.
