I think the USGA is being a bit short - sighted on this decision. If I read the article correctly, the restrictions on Sounder use would only apply to Thursday & Friday, when the trainsets are being used on their normal schedules. This should not preclude using them on Saturday & Sunday, when the majority of spectators would want to attend the U.S. Open. I do know Chambers Bay Golf Course is located in a high - end residential area, with mostly narrow 2 - lane roads. It is also a 15 minute drive - minimum - from Interstate 5. Good Luck with the shuttle busses from Puyallup Fairgrounds, at least a 45 minute ride away.
