Interesting, but not surprising. Especially if it's on the main line, BNSF would certainly not allow trains to stop at a random location for the tournament.
The Sears Point NASCAR train works because it's not on a main line. NWP doesn't run on Sundays. NASCAR does. End of train parking problem.
Amusting sidelight: SF Chronicle did a "race" to Levi's Stadium for a pre-season 49ers game, to test transit connections. The driver-all-the-way won. Amtrak was convenient. BART+shuttle bus was a nightmare because the bus was caught in traffic. See: [
