The traffic is going to be barbaric. Shuttles from the Puyallup fair will be a complete joke. Most out of towners ( or even locals) will be staying in Tacoma, Seattle and Olympia. So they will drive 15 miles the wrong way, to ride a 45 minute bus ride (everyone hates busses) only to have to repeat the whole ordeal to go home.

On the weekends, the trainsets could have easily made repeated departures all day long. Another poster questioned tying up the main or runarounds. Stop time and reversing the train aren't issues. There is a house track at Pioneer (the name of the control point there) so they could get in the clear, and the Sounder trains are push-pull. No need for runaround or turning.

I have never been to any PGA events, but I have a feeling a 45 minute bus ride isnt standard. A train ride would be a unique aspect to a unique location fir the US Open.
