Al Giddings old NWP electrical engineer from 20's wrote several articles on saving the south end for transit in the 70's, right around time Sausalito branch was abandoned. His idea for making the larkspur ferry a terminus successfully was to wrap the tracks around the south side of wood island and pull into the ferry terminal from the south.
