The quarry was across SFD Blvd from the ferry terminal, where the "Larkspur Landing" complex is now. One of the streets back there is Quarry Loop or something like that (look at Google Map), and the place obviously backs up to the quarry-face cliffs.

I had a flash looking at Google when it outlined the apartment buildings: the space between some of the buildings looked just like a negative, in floor plan, of that old collapsing building in the movie quarry, and is almost in the right place! Zoom in to where it shows the building outlines, then about in the middle of everything there is a group of buildings outlining sort of a rectangular space ... cross your eyes a bit and think about what it looked like before any development there.
