Was in the Pullman/Colfax area today and did some snooping in the courthouse. Seems much of the former RR property in Pullman has landed in the hands of the City of Pullman. Some have been sold to neighboring owners, but most to city. A visit to the Pullman Chamber of Commerce resulted in an excited woman telling about how the City has purchased most of the old RR property to be made into parks and bike trails. Along north Grand Ave, she pointed to where city recently demolished some old buildings (on the former RR property) and explained how the City and WSU are attempting to purchase some of the businesses in order to add to the RR property in order to complete the "North Grand Greenway" so as to provide a nicer entrance to WSU. First time I've ever visited a Chamber of Commerce that was happy to see businesses close. College towns, go figure!! Hope W&I can get some business through Pullman so that people there know trains exist. By the way, former NP depot walls display a nice collection of photos of Pullman in the good ol' days.
