2100 was purchased by a Canadian (name escapes me) and eventually wound up in Tacoma WA on a short-lived excursion train after being converted to burn oil. There were financial troubles and 2100 was taken to Hanford for storage about 8 years ago. The good news about this part was 1) Hanford is a very dry climate and 2) Very few thieves, ivory hunters, etc knew about this.
Richard O - Thanks so much for the great pictures you posted. Wonderful for those of us unable to be at trackside yesterday to actually see 2100 moving east.
I have a bit of history myself with the Reading T1 engines. About 48 years ago I was living in the Chicago area when 2102 visited for a few Chicago - Valparaiso IN trips on the Grand Trunk Western. I was riding that ill-fated trip where 2102 derailed around 25th street on the return trip. Broad gauge and the drivers dropped inside of the rails.
