Brought in for what turned out to be a short-lived excursion service on Tacoma Rail's ex-MILW Mountain Division. Apparently could not handle even a short train up Tacoma Hill by itself, and needed a diesel helper (an ex-Amtrak F40PH was brought in for this). Pictures of the train show the 2100, the F40, and two or three ex-METRA gallery coaches

After this operation ended, it somehow wound up in the Tri-Cities, where it spent the next eight years or so in storage.
