On the Way to Richland

After a period of storage on the Tacoma Tide Flats the 2100 was moved to Richland over Stampede Pass. Here she is in Auburn about to start up the west side of Stampede, towed by two GEEPs.

When they finally emerged from Stampede Tunnel at Martin, The BNSF crew cut away from the 2100 and ran down the hill to Easton to change crews. While the GEEPs were gone the 2100 was stoked up and photographed at the tunnel portal just like she had just emerged on her own. Pretty phony. The picture was featured on Railroad Forums, and maybe elsewhere.
