I know that they are trying to restore the line as far south as Molena. They just recently added an extension to Birds Landing Road. Looking at the Google satellite image, it appears that a lot of track work has been done since I was last there. Last time I visited Molena (about 6 or 7 years ago), the tracks were heavily grown over, and there were missing rails. The image from Google shows all missing rails have been replaced, and it appears the main and siding have both been re-ballasted. You can very clearly see where the track work has stopped, about 1/2 beyond the West (South) Molena siding switch.

As for North of the museum...I honestly don't know. I know they ran special diesel-pulled trains for awhile, but I don't think they're doing that anymore. I read somewhere that UP is storing cars on the museum's tracks near Travis AFB, but haven't confirmed that personally.
