Not to jump to too many conclusions yet ...
They are starting to get the sight lit up and have overhead views now available. Lead engine looks to be the 601, one of the new electrics currently being built. The engine is quite a ways from the main track it appears to be supposed to be on, the first passenger car appears to have largely disintegrated, and several cars are jacknifed (some on their sides) into the shape of a "J" before joing cars derailed on the main but upright.
The train may have been entering a curve and appears to have gone to the outside, and was obviously at speed considering how far it strayed. It's always bad when a train takes a hard turn into the ditch.
Could be excessive speed, track failure or bad switch, or a mechanical failure - definitely looks nasty. Hoping for the best ....
Politicians are getting their face time.
