Re: SP 1043 cupola caboose sold by GGRM?

According to their website the GGRM's mission is "dedicated to the preservation of steam and passenger railroad equipment". That means the caboose being freight equipment falls outside their mission statement so it makes sense that they would find it a new home. But I also heard that they just sold their double articulated Daylight coach to the PLA. That seems contrary to their mission. Their once large collection of passenger equipment is down to 8 cars. Is what's left the "core" collection?
The good thing is that they are selling the equipment to someone who will actually restore and operate it. The caboose will look great behind the SP1744.
On a different train of thought, does anyone think it's weird that the SL&RG is operating (or will be operating) period SP freights in Colorado? I think they will be cool looking trains but Rio Grande fans may cringe.
