Re: Would a parallel track work?

I asked earlier about the width of the ROW on the segments in question, because, one solution would be to lay an additional set of rails, parallel to the current set, or, if they need to be shifted, within the same ROW.....which would allow for operation of both...?

In looking at the aerials, it seems that a parallel track might be a possible outcome, as well. I think that this option and the upgrade of the WP segment to accomplish the same purpose would both be within any scope I would write, to look at the capacity needs identified by ACE and UP.

There are a hundred other things to look at with any set of options, including impacts on existing structures, impacts to the "historic" structures along the ROW, impacts on Steelhead, not to mention the impacts from the likelihood that any construction activity in CA that would cause dust which could possibly carry Valley Fever spores..... Pseudo environmentalist crazies and nimby's just used this dangerous "spores" argument to oppose the removal of sediments! that have built up in flood control basins, and I kid you not on that.....!
