I do not think doofus is a proper word to describe some of these individuals. Back in the 1980's there was a steam trip behind the Southern Pacific's 2472 and 4449. There must have been twenty of us lined up to grab a photo as the train approached Lick. As we stood there one individual parked and then walked to a point about a hundred feet in front of us. When some of us requested that he join us - he gave us the finger. Doofus just does not seem proper, but a word starting with an "A" seems much better.
