I would rather see the equally rare Alco C-415 running on Oregon Pacific, as opposed to being stuffed & mounted in an out - of - the - way park. Part of Fife's reasoning was that the CM&E unit ran in their city, an argument that has already been debunked.
Regards the NW-5, I recall Shortline Sammie offered it to several museums with no takers. I also saw the unit in 2003 with heavy rust damage; more recently the crack - head copper thieves had worked their illegal magic on it.
