Here in Puget Sound, the bike crowd in Seattle has been trying for years to force Ballard Terminal RR out of business, so as to provide them with The Missing Link between the Burke - Gilman Trail and the Shilshole & Magnolia Trails. Fortunately Byron Cole and his friends have won all the battles (so far).
Across the Lake in Kirkland, the City has angered the bike crowd with plans to add bus lanes to the Eastside Trail, the former BNSF Woodinville Sub & former home of The Spirit of Washington Dinner Train. The Right of Way was converted to a bike trail several years ago, and now the bike crowd does not want to share it. Too bad for them, this R of W is actually now owned by Sound Transit.
