The one dead giveaway is the thick black plume. The only time you saw that with the real Rio Grande was on the climb up Cumbries Pass. I have never seen a westbound freight with such a think plume in old photos. Personally I hate this fascination that modern day photo charters have with thick black smoke. It’s not right!
Great photo on your part though, the plume isn’t something you can control.
